MMI 501 Final Project

Unless you have cleared another project idea with me beforehand, please complete the following project. All printouts must be stapled together and are due to me by 5 PM on Friday, April 27, in my faculty mailbox in the Foster building.

Your goal is to design a closed box for a full-range loudspeaker driver. The driver you must use is the Tang Band W4-1320SD 4" full-range driver.

1. Play around with Bass Box Pro.

2. Download driver specs from Parts Express (partsexpress.com).

3. Enter the driver into the BB Pro database.

4. Try a variety of closed-box enclosures to see which one provides the flattest response and lowest cutoff frequency.

5. Generate a complete materials and price list in Excel for the physical contruction of a prototype.

6. Once you have settled on a design, generate a complete report and print it out.
